"324" by Works by ABC
This design is inspired by a 16th century Italian lace tablecloth that is made up of 324 different squares - further information is provided in the pattern. It just caught my eye when I found it in the online collections of a museum, and I began thinking about a cross-stitch pattern with 324 different motifs.
I decided to go all in - if the motifs (at least in the original cloth) were all different, maybe I should use different colors for each! Using the DMC color card, I chose 324 colors. Never fear, there are not 324 different symbols in this pattern! A chart is included to explain placement.
While I loved using these threads in this way, I realize there are some stitchers that might not be interested in stitching with 324 different colors. I designed a version that uses only 36 colors and a chart for this is also included.
