Mrs. Brown'S Portfolio by NeedleWorkPress
From the designer: "C an you imagine the mother of nine children creating this wonderful portfolio between births? Well, that’s exactly what Mrs. Julia D. Brown did in 1836! Julia D. Babcock was born in 1801, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Clark) Babcock. In 1820, she married Clark Brown of Hopkinton, Rhode Island (then New York State). They settled in Morrisville, New York, where Mr. Brown was a harness maker and merchant. Between 1821 and 1840 they had nine children While studying her unique work of art, we learned that Julia actually drew the pattern on her paper with pencil before stitching. Please note that although the borders and flowers create a harmonious and balanced design, they are not actually symmetrical. Be sure to follow the pattern carefully!"
