From the designer: "W ell, we certainly had hoped to know something about our sampler maker, Jennett A. Buckley by the time we presented this chart to you. Alas, without an exact year that she stitched her sampler, finding birth records would be a guess at best. Chances are that somewhere along the way, the ending year was picked out to preserve her real age. The possibility also exists that the 11-year-old may have misspelled her first name. Of course, with the last name of Jennett—spelled just like her first name—you can see our initial attraction to her sampler. Once we studied it however, we grew to love her child-like motifs and timeless verse. We hope you enjoy recreating this sampler that was first created nearly two centuries ago."
